Addressing the crisis in youth mental health with positive mental training
Strategies & solutions for schools & colleges
75% of adults with a mental illness is first experience symptoms before the age of 25. 82% of students suffer from stress and anxiety and 45% have experience depression. Suicide rates amongst UK university students nearly double in the last decade. 1 in 5 people aged 16 – 24 yrs have experience anxiety or depression at any one time – yet less than 70% of young people who experience a mental health problem have had appropriate interventions.
There is much to be done to help younger generations navigate today’s landscape. We want to give younger generations the skills and tools to proactively manage their mental health, so they can build a more resilient mindset to help them face today’s challenges and thrive.
In this talk Dr Sheila Ross will share her experience of using digital technology in universities and schools, in the UK, to improve student’s mental health with the Feeling Good App.
