Professor emeritus in Psychology at Gothenburg University, where he has been researching fields like ESP, Altered States of Consciousness and the connection to Quantum Physics. This led him into the area of lucid Dreaming, where he has investigated the phenomena as well as the practical use for personal development. It will also be his topic in the Congress.
After qualifying in clinical psychology at the Tavistock Clinic, Adrian Parker was the recipient of the Perrott-Warrick Studentship in psychical research, Trinity College, Cambridge becoming the first to gain a UK doctorate with a thesis on altered states and ESP from the University of Edinburgh. His doctoral work co-innovated the technique, known as the psi-ganzfeld, of reproducing psychic-like experiences in the laboratory. He is author of the book States of Mind and recently together with the philosopher Annekatrin Puhle published the book Shakespeare’s Ghost Live showing how forgotten knowledge to be found in Shakespeare works that is highly relevant to the deeper understanding of transpersonal experiences. He has over a hundred publications on altered states of consciousness and psychic experiences.
Adrian has and studied medical sciences and worked in child psychiatry before accepting a position at Gothenburg University, when a major award from the Swedish Bank Jubilee Fond (Riksbanken) enabled the development of the “Real Time Digital Ganzfeld”. This is now a benchmark procedure for studying high quality psi (psychic) events in the laboratory. Adrian Parker is em. professor at Gothenburg University, where he is currently carrying out research into lucid dream states with the support of Cambridge University’s Perrott-Warrick Fund. He received the 2014 teaching award from the Gothenburg Students.
